Day 1 – Sydney → South Coast → Eden
Depart Sydney via the spectacular Grand Pacific Drive, stopping at scenic Stanwell Tops (hang gliding capital of Australia) and the serene Nan Tien Temple Budhist Temple.
Explore the NSW South Coast Tours by coast from Sydney via Botany Bay, viewing La Perouse (French connection) to scenic Bulli Lookout with spectacular views over Wollongong and the NSW South Coast.
After a delicious morning tea at Bulli Lookout, arrive in Wollongong (or optionally the spectacular Nan Tien Temple) for free time to explore and / or swim Wollongong beach or explore the Nan Tien Temple (largest Buddhist Temple in Southern Hemisphere).
Continue south to the Kiama Blowhole before enjoying lunch at Narooma on the Sapphire Coast. Arrive in Eden late afternoon and enjoy sunset views over Twofold Bay. Visit the Eden wharf and waterfront, and the Eden museum which houses the fascinating story of Old Tom, a killer whale who worked with the early whalers to bring the whales in. Overnight: Eden
Day 2 – Eden → Snowy Mountains → Yackandandah
Leave the coast and climb inland through forested escarpments and high country. Travel through the Snowy Mountains and Thredbo region before crossing into north-east Victoria and arriving at the beautifully preserved gold-rush town of Yackandandah. Wednesday nights are high quality folk music nights at the local pub. Overnight: Yackandandah
Day 3 – Yackandandah → Canberra
Enjoy a relaxed morning exploring Yackandandah’s historic streets, artisan shops and cafés. Continue north through pastoral landscapes before arriving in Canberra for an orientation of Australia’s capital, including Lake Burley Griffin and Parliament House precinct. Overnight: Canberra
Day 4 – Canberra → Sydney
After a full breakfast, enjoy some of the highlights of Canberra such as the National Art Gallery, Parliament House, or War Memorial or much more. Travel back to Sydney via the Southern Tablelands with scenic countryside stops along the way. Arrive mid to late afternoon.
